A Newport man accused of several high-value thefts from businesses in Newport, will appear in court next month.
As previously reported by Island Echo, it was last week that Police released the image of a male they wished to speak to in relation to a theft at a jewellers in Newport on 11th September.
Yesterday (Tuesday), Police confirmed that they had made an arrest. Now they have revealed that 36-year-old Luke Edgington, from West Street in Newport, has now been charged with 4 counts of theft from a shop;
- Theft of a wedding ring from TM Taylors and Sons on St. James Street Newport on 3rd September
- Theft of a wedding ring from H Samuel on High Street Newport on 5th September
- Theft of a necklace from T.M Barber Jewellers on High Street Newport on 11th September
- Theft of a pair of headphones and a gaming mouse from Currys on Riverway Newport on 14th September
Police have confirmed that Edgington has been bailed to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 21st October.
