Fire crews from Freshwater and Yarmouth have extinguished a chimney fire at a house in Wellow this morning (Sunday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to Main Road at just gone 04:40 following a 999 call from the homeowner.
A log burner is to blame.
At least 1 crew remains on scene as concerns have been raised about the integrity of the building. The fire has affected a main structural beam.
Firefighters are expected to be stood down once further inspections have been carried out.
