Emergency services have been called to a single vehicle road traffic collision on Middle Road at Calbourne this morning (Sunday).
Island Echo understands a red Skoda Fabia estate has collided with a grass verge near to Calbourne Mill.
1 fire appliance from Newport has been mobilised to the scene in the interests of safety due to what is thought to be coolant leaking on the carriageway.
The crash occurred shortly before 11:30.
The road remains open at this time.
UPDATE @ 12:25 – The scene has now been cleared.
Police have responded to the incident but it was cleared from the carriageway prior to their arrival.

Coolant is one of, if not the most toxic fluid in a vehicle. Glycol is also really slippery, so yes a proper cleanup would be required.
