UPDATED: Emergency services are attending a road traffic collision at Bleak Down this lunchtime (Monday), which has forced the closure of the road in both directions.
The incident has occurred on Niton Road just past the Chequers Inn pub – on the Niton side.
A vehicle is reported to be on its side with the occupant trapped. Police, fire and ambulance crews are all in attendance.
Motorists should avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 12:33 – It has been confirmed that the driver of the car has managed to free themselves from the wreckage.
A fire appliance from Ryde is providing scene safety.
The vehicle is expected to be recover in due course.
UPDATE @ 13:48 – 1 person has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
