CAR LEAVES ROAD AND TRAVELS DOWN EMBANKMENT NEAR RAILWAY LINE

A car has left the road and travelled down an embankment near the railway line in Ryde this evening (Friday).

2 fire appliances from Ryde, Police, an ambulance crew and an ambulance officer are all on scene at a private road where Quarry Road meets Alfred Street.

The female driver of the car has been stretchered up the embankment and into the awaiting ambulance.

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident at around 17:55.

It is unclear how the vehicle x a Nissan Micra – has come to rest in the middle of the field.

Island Line services are unaffected.
