Retained firefighters from Freshwater battled to extinguish a car fire in a field near Chessell earlier on tonight (Thursday).
A single appliance was mobilised to the scene between Calbourne and Freshwater following reports of a vehicle well alight.
2 firefighters with breathing apparatus sets were tasked with bringing the flames under control using 2 hose reels.
Unfortunately, the Renault Megane Scenic has been destroyed.
Hampshire Constabulary were also alerted to the incident and sent 2 units to attend due to the circumstances of the fire.
