A car has crashed into a wall on a side road in Sandown this morning (Wednesday).
Police were called to the scene at around 07:30 when a VW Polo collided into a boundary wall on Fort Street, off Avenue Road.
No one has been seriously injured in the collision.
The road remains closed whilst the vehicle is recovered and debris is cleared from the carriageway.

Must be speed again
Heart attack, wish people would not jump to conclusions.
I think there was a car hit the wall there not long ago
Yes, one hit our property next door on 2nd February 20.
And mine this time Yvonne
At least with the ‘relaxation’ of Lockdown the news will start to get back to normal.
Car crash after car crash/accident.
Same old same old…
Majority will be single vehicle leaving the road or hitting parked vehicles due to looking at something other than the road.
Ut Oh, back to normal! Haven’t had reports like this for a while! Driving too fast?
Just as well there was no one on the pavement at the time. A dog walker, child on way to school, someone just on their way to work. Slow the hell down, and wake up.
Well several cars just drove past me on Broadway.
Just as well there was no one on the road at the time……..
Lately it seems like a lot of people have lost the ability to drive without putting others and their property at risk ..
Wrong, get your facts right.
Oh really lol anon perhaps you should explain as your so clued up typical reply from a mainlander or do you live in v.. town
Nice social distancing there… LOL
Disgusting comment, I respect you have an opinion but people don’t want to read your vulgar comments and use of profanity, equally you must be ashamed of your own comments and option because you cannot even use your name, you have to comment as Anon. Next time have some respect and appreciate that people under 18 might read the news and you’re setting a very bad example.
Has anons comment been deleted? Can’t see it.
This happened outside my house and i was first on scene, because it’s nobody’s business i wont say what caused the accident but it had nothing to do with speed or bad driving. Unlike some of the people commenting on here there was nothing but kindness and offers of assistance shown by all of the local residents that came out to check on the driver.
The ticket man from our trains was amazing! Total hero!
Need bollards putting up on the bend
The driver was on his way to work and had a blackout luckily not hurt
Time to give up their license then..
Hope the driver sorts the blackout problem, however the driver will need to notify the DVLA because in the event of another incident, the drivers insurance will be nullified.
Hope the man is ok
Sandown again must of been a getaway car
Perhaps the wall is in the wrong place?
Lots of healthy people experiencing dizzy spells due to bad hayfever when fluid causes pressure in the inner ear. Particularly bad this year and getting worse, affecting people who’ve never suffered with it previously. Often when the rape flowers.
