An ‘altercation’ involving a number of people, including a 13-year-old girl, led to a large Police response to Ryde Esplanade last night (Saturday) as the town’s annual illuminated carnival took place.
Sirens galore descended on the Esplanade shortly before 22:00 as officers rushed to reports of disorder in the area of Ryde Bus Station – thought to be a fight involving groups of teenagers.
Police gave first aid to at least 1 person and 2 ambulances were dispatched to the scene, although no serious injuries were sustained.
The incident took place as families enjoyed Ryde’s Illuminated Carnival, which passed along the Esplanade.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary says a community resolution was issued to a 13-year-old girl.
In addition, a Section 35 dispersal order was put in place at 22:10 last night to give Police additional powers to disperse those involved in anti social behaviour.
The order allowed officers to direct people to leave the area who have contributed to, or are likely to contribute to, causing people harassment, alarm or distress — or the occurrence of crime and disorder.

And within a few short years or likely months, that thing will be producing another clone, all tax credit funded with a flat for us to keep and for ‘it’ to become the next generation low life costly trash to ruin society of the future.

i watched the carnival on the seafront, but not before watching the handbags at dawn by the large group of girls all battling each other, verbally, as well as shoving, pulling hair etc. It culminated with one girl giving a full open handed slap to the face of another. Shortly after, the police arrived and chased that girl across the bus station, closely followed by the whole pack of girls. That girl was then frog marched in cuffs, back across the bus station to the police van. The second girl, who was the main culprit in all of it, was identified later and then arrested also.
a fine show of hatred towards each other, which will no doubt be continued at school in due course. Although some looked sheepish when parents arrived.
More dragged up scumbags will be along soon, this country is a cesspit and it’s going to get a lot worse…..

For goodness sake, there has always been fights during the summer festivities, think Teddy Boy battles from the 1950s! The only thing that has changed has been the immediate reporting on the internet.
I’m surprised they didn’t send in a couple of A10 Warthogs, a few ballistic missiles and the 7th cavalry just to round of the overkill again. Seems when it comes to police presence it’s either famine or feast. Why can’t the police spread their presence evenly across the island? Such as when an old lady on Pan had her dog mauled to death by another out of control dog. It was disgusting their lack of concern over that.

What is wrong with this generation of morons. Carnivals are family fun events.
However young, the people who caused this should be prosecuted. Otherwise they and their friends think it’s OK to behave like this. It is very upsetting for families with young children.
I’m sorry to say this but what the hell is happening to our island ? It’s getting so violent here now you can’t walk anywhere without seeing things, The carnival used to be safe and happy for all ages kids loved it Now you think twice with so much violence here
Simply what is happening is people are being paid to have children in the vain hope that these tax credit funded feral trash, will grow up to be workers to care for the growing elderly
The same thought or lack of, imo, is for the importation of imm’s, again the Gov ‘hope’ that they will work hard pay taxes and fund the growing older people.
BUT the reality is, many of the paid for British children bought up on tax credits DONT work, and are more of a drain on society than if they had not been born.
The illegals all soon to be pardoned, are the same, a few will work, but most will join the benefit tax credit womb emptying scam again ADDING to our burden not helping it.

You say you hardly go out yet you’ve seen violence regularly…. on the TV obviously.
In fairness, Ryde carnival has never been uneventful, I recall myself and my colleagues accompanying children dancing behind a float on numerous occasions over the years having to intervene to stop drunken louts accosting the children and making lewd comments on Union Street.
Just a shame the last carnival has been reported as it has I went there for many years with my grandchildren and loved it, sadly I can’t anymore with the press reports it’s certainly off putting
Kids having kids. The young parent has no real experience of the world, gets pregnant, produces future little thugs. No discipline or respect is installed into the offspring. And so the cycle continues. So sad. What a violent society we live in now
