UPDATED: A mechanical issue with Wightlink’s Wight Light car ferry has resulted in cancellations on the Yarmouth to Lymington route tonight (Sunday).
The 20:20 sailing from Yarmouth has failed to operate, resulting in passengers and vehicles being disembarked and directed to Wightlink’s Fishbourne terminal instead.
The cross-Solent operator has now confirmed that the 22:00 sailing from Yarmouth has been cancelled with customers advised to make their way for the 23:00 from Fishbourne instead.
Island Echo readers say that a clutch issue is to blame for the disruption.
Wightlink apologies for any changes to your travel plans.
UPDATE @ 22:21 – It has been announced that the 06.40, 08.45 and 11.00 sailings from Lymington and the 07.50, 10.05 and 12.05 sailings from Yarmouth have been cancelled tomorrow (Monday).
UPDATE MONDAY – Wightlink’s engineers have been able to resolve the mechanical issues overnight and therefore a normal timetabled service will resume today.
