A main road in and out of Sandown will be closed overnight for a period of around 2 weeks to allow further works to be carried out to a railway bridge.
Avenue Road will be closed between Perowne Way and Tamar Close at times between Monday 17th March and Friday 28th March.
Motorists will be forced to divert via Yaverland – or through Perowne Way – between the hours of 23:00 and 05:00 each night.
Network Rail is undertaking works to the girder bridge that carries Island Line trains between Brading and Sandown.
These latest works come just months after a major operation to remove 1 of 2 bridges spanning the road, as previously reported by Island Echo.
