A body has been found in the search for missing 44-year-old Charlotte Alder from Shanklin.

A large scale search and rescue operation has been taking place on the Isle of Wight since Thursday morning following Charlotte’s disappearance from St Mary’s Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, Charlotte’s family have been informed of the tragic discovery.

At this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious and Police are preparing a file for the coroner.

Charlotte’s family and officers would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported the search over the last few days.
