UPDATED: The collapse of a bank lining the carriageway has closed the main road between Rookley and Niton this morning (Thursday).
Island Roads have implemented a hard closure between Main Road, Rookley and Chequers Inn Road whilst the earth is removed from the road.
Meanwhile in Sandown, Nunwell Street has been closed due to a depression in the road. Shore Road, Gurnard is also closed today for emergency cable works and Church Road, Binstead is closed for pothole repairs.
Motorists are advised to divert via Godshill and Whitwell when travelling to and from Niton, and via Chillerton if travelling to Chale.
UPDATE @ 16:30 – Niton Road has now reopened in both directions following the removal of debris from the carriageway.
In Sandown, Golf Links Road has been closed due to flooding.
