Police are appealing for information to help locate 55-year-old Michael Bond from Shanklin, who hasn’t been seen in several days.
Michael was reported missing on Monday after a neighbour became worried about his whereabouts.
Since then, officers have been conducting extensive enquiries to locate the 55-year-old, and are extremely concerned for his welfare.
Island Echo understands searches have been taking place in the West Wight.
It is believed he will still be on the Isle of Wight, although he could have travelled to the New Forest or Southampton.
Michael is described as being white, around 5ft 9ins tall, of skinny build and with long dark but greying hair (just about long enough for a pony tail) and a chin length dark but greying beard. He may have glasses on, but does not wear them all the time.
He is potentially wearing either a grey suit and/or a tan leather jacket.
If you have seen Michael, or have any information on his whereabouts, then call 101 quoting the reference 44220509926.
UPDATE @ 12:00 on Thursday – Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary have said:
“We believe Michael travelled from the Island to Portsmouth via Wightlink on Sunday 18th December some time between 07:00 and 08:00, and now suspect he could be in central London.
“As such, we are requesting people in the Portsmouth and London areas to also share our appeal.”
UPDATE 9TH JANUARY 2023 – Police have confirmed that Michael Bond has been successfully located.
He was found at the weekend – in an undisclosed location.

Police are appealing for information to help locate 55-year-old Michael Bond from Shanklin, who hasn’t been seen since Monday.
So was reported missing Monday and police ask for help on Wednesday night
Instead of writing a low quality comment make yourself useful and go look for him
So what is your point? Ready to slate the Police no doubt. He hasn’t turned up so now they are appealing for help from the public. So many people ready to judge or put the Police force down.
If there weren’t so many offenders breaking the law in so many different ways they would have more time and resources to look for missing, vulnerable people!
they have to wait 48 hours, as before that he may just be staying somewhere else – not to forget the fact that as an adult, he can just go where he pleases and doesn’t have to disclose anything to anyone.
So what if someone had seen him on Tuesday but didn’t know he was missing until reported on Wednesday.
Well said Ben I totally agree with you
The names Michael, Michael Bond.

actually working.
So is this out of character for this man does he have a history of mental health issues ? Drug or alcohol dependency?
He is probably a smack head in debt and done a runner off the island. Shame that but farewell dear friend
left the island and potentially anywhere on the planet – an adult that has chosen of his own free will to clear off somewhere else – if he didn’t have the decency to let people know where he was moving off to, then don’t bother looking for him
Not shameful at all i bump of a low life drug dealer any day of week and what are u going to do nothing
