ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER SERVICE SUSPENSION FOR HOVERTRAVEL

UPDATED: Hovertravel’s cross-Solent service between Ryde and Southsea has been suspended this evening (Tuesday).

At around 18:40 the company said they were operating with a delay of 30 minutes, but it has now been announced that the service is suspended altogether due to a technical issue.

This is the 4th time in the past week that Hovertravel’s service has ground to a halt due to an issue with Island Flyer. The craft is the only operational vessel available to the company at present as Solent Flyer is in Southampton for 7 weeks of repair work.

According to passengers at Southsea, a bus has now been put on to take customers to Wightlink’s Fastcat.

An update is expected at 19:30.

UPDATE @ 19:43 – Hovertravel have now resumed their operations in accordance with the revised timetable.
