A crash at Arreton, which is understood to involve a child, has prompted a response from emergency services this afternoon (Thursday).
The incident has occurred at the junction of Downend Road and Arreton Street – the main road between Sandown and Newport.
2 vehicles are said to be involved including a blue Peugeot 307 SE. The car has been moved off the carriageway.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has dispatched 2 crews to the scene with colleagues from Hampshire Constabulary also in attendance.
UPDATE @ 15:57 – Recovery is now on scene to clear the vehicles and debris from the road.
Minor disruption is expected as we approach rush hour, with the incident cleared by 17:00.



























































































Hope no one is hurt badly that’s got to be worse junction on island surely all the money this council waste can’t they just put a roundabout there would be so easier for traffic to get out of junctions but I suppose this council and easy just don’t get on
It would be more helpful if drivers took an eye test and take notice of the speed limits..

Everyone has to give way at that junction, and there’s no blind spots, so how did this happen???…
What a pathetic statement there is no problem with the junction, there is plenty of visibility both ways.
The problem being more and more bad drivers… and it will get worse, as the Island fills up !!
