The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has touched down in Shanklin this morning (Tuesday) to assist the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service with a medical emergency.
Flying doctors and paramedics were scrambled to a residential address in the town at around 09:45.
They are assisting blue light colleagues from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service at a property in Collingwood Road, where 2 ambulance crews are currently in attendance.
The helicopter has landed on the playing field at nearby St Blasius Primary School, where schoolchildren are being shown the aircraft.
UPDATE @ 10:59 – Emergency teams have now stood down from the incident.
The air ambulance has taken off from St Blasius, where crowds of school children waved goodbye as the turbine spooled up and the helicopter lifted into the skies.
The patient has not been conveyed.
