The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in the West Wight this afternoon (Monday) in response to a serious medical emergency.
Numerous resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, including 2 ambulances, a senior paramedic officer, a co-responder and a crew from St John Ambulance, have responded to the Cliff Road area between Totland and Alum Bay.
The local crews have been joined by flying doctors from HIOWAA with the air ambulance helicopter touching down in a nearby field at just before 16:15.
Medical teams are currently attending to a patient at a residential property.
The incident began sometime before 16:00.
UPDATE @ 17:15 – The air ambulance has now taken off from the scene, returning to base at Thruxton. The crew have not conveyed the patient.
