Wet and windy conditions on the Solent have led to the suspension of Hovertravel’s service this morning (Monday).
As anticipated, adverse weather means that cross-Solent services between Ryde and Southsea are currently unable to operate.
Hovertravel says that an update will be provided at 12:00, but with the wind increasing as the afternoon progresses it is unclear when exactly services are likely to resume.
Tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service from Ryde Pier Head to Portsmouth Harbour.
UPDATE @ 19:03 – Services are to remain suspended for the rest of the day.
The next update will be at 05:45 Tuesday.

hurryup and build a bridge
You must be a sad and lonely individual.
You are kidding. We would all be 300 years old when it was built if they started to plan it fifty years ago
can’t help the weather unfortunately
One word for you, Fool.
Awful for travelers, only consultation is several hundred thousand saved by delaying those arrivals without tickets or passports to the UK
I’m sure that the refugees I assume that you are referring to, have a better grasp of the English language than you do.
I am sure that with costly one to one educational aid translators they certainly have an advantage for schools have to bend over backwards to appease and of course by doing so, get more state funding which WE have to pay via taxes..
Perhaps the 30% of jail inmates which are now Albanian have English classes in prison too.
But we according to fools like you can only highlight the good, and keep very, very quiet about the larger problems such bring.
You ought to work for the BBC, perhaps though, you are over qualified.
Albanians make up 30% of the UK jail population?
A blatant racist LIE.
Albanians make up less than 3% of the UK prison population in 2022 – FACT
Well said! I’m just wondering what Albanians (in any denomination) have to do with the Hover being suspended due to the wind?
It is an interesting thought process though.. Hover is off, that’ll be those Albanians again!!
Perhaps you can just do an article when they plan on running
