This November, one of the Isle of Wight’s most popular pubs, The Bargeman’s Rest in Newport, is welcoming back the evening crowd with a tempting offer: 50% off all bar drinks!
Owners Jane and Andrew Gibbs are hopeful that the promotion will encourage both current and new patrons to rediscover the lively, welcoming atmosphere of the pub after dark.
Jane says:
“During November, we will be offering a 50% discount on all drinks from the bar between 21:00 and 22:00, from Sunday to Thursday”.
“Since COVID many people are just out of the habit of enjoying their local pub. Pubs across the country are not fully back to normal after COVID, with many unable to stay open every day or until late”.
Andrew adds:
“A good pub thrives on informality and spontaneity. We’re hoping this offer will inspire a bit of both. Whether you’re enjoying a meal or just popping in for a drink, you’ll always find a warm welcome at The Bargeman’s Rest.”
*The drinks offer is available throughout November and includes all drinks from the bar, however, it does not include hot drinks.
Pubs are sadly a dying trade.
Coffee shops have replaced them.
Since the pandemic many pubs etc have not
done themselves any favours.
I like to enter an establishment and choose where I
sit, many want you to wait to be seated, also
many have stopped serving food an hour earlier than
they used too.
After 8pm many places stop serving food.
Why?!
There’s nothing like the promise of cheap booze to promote responsible drinking.
