Vectis Radio is celebrating a landmark achievement after being shortlisted in 4 categories at the 2025 Community Radio Awards – the most nominations the Isle of Wight station has ever received.
Now in its 10th year, the Community Radio Awards shine a spotlight on the very best in community broadcasting across the UK. This year’s competition is said to be one of the strongest yet, underlining the growing importance of local radio.
Vectis Radio has earned recognition in the following categories:
- Celebrating & Championing Community Radio of the Year – Championing The 4Ps Radio Training School
- Specialist Content Show of the Year – The Mid Morning Show
- Community Impact Project of the Year – The 4Ps Radio Training School
- Station of the Year – Vectis Radio
Winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony in Bradford on Saturday 25th October, following the National Community Radio Conference.
Station Manager Ian Mac said:
“To be shortlisted in four categories is an incredible achievement for everyone involved with Vectis Radio. It reflects the hard work of our volunteers, the impact of the 4Ps Training School, and the support we receive from our Island community. We’re proud to represent the Isle of Wight on the national stage.”

“It is humbling to see our station being recognised nationally once again. Not only are we from a small island, but we have a small team who punch well above their weight.
