It has been confirmed that a 31-year-old man – understood to be from Southampton – sustained a stab wound in the attack. It is said he was attacked with a pair of scissors.
The victim was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment. His injuries have been described as non life-threatening.
Ward has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court today.

Low life who stab with whatever, be it glass, scissors, a knife or any item should be jailed for attempted murder. Minimum ten years, and more if the injuries cause permanent harm.
Weak sentences just means more crimes, more costs of courts, Police and hospital staff, far cheaper to lock the filth up for years and prevent a few carrying weapons or using such if they know the minimum is a decade away from drink, and women.
What was he doing over here in the first place , most probably drug related .
Who needs enemies with friends like that!
