The Isle of Wight is set to bask in the sunshine this long Bank Holiday weekend with 22c expected on Saturday and Sunday, according to local forecasters IW Met Service.
Friday will be yet another fine day across the Island with plenty of warm sunshine, building on what has already been a glorious week locally. Temperatures are expected to be between 18c and 20c, with a moderate to fresh east-northeasterly breeze, 12-23mph.
Things will hot up for Saturday for what will be a warm and mostly sunny day, with only occasional patches of cloud drifting through. The mercury will rise to between 20c and 22c, once again with a moderate east-northeasterly breeze bringing winds of around 11-19mph.
Sunday is a slightly different picture with a fine start to the day expected, but cloud will push in from the north to bring the chance of the odd shower. However, many places will remain completely dry with the temperature still sitting at a very comfortable 20c to 22c. The breeze will be similar to Saturday.
It will be noticeably cooler on Monday for what will be a much fresher day with occasional sunny spells and broken cloud. The temperature will sit around 17c – some 5c cooler than Saturday – with a fresh to strong northeasterly wind of 19-36mph.
