The Isle of Wight Marathon is celebrating its 69th anniversary this year, with around 200 runners expected to take on the demanding course across the west and north of the Island next week (5th October).
The race, organised by Ryde Harriers, will begin in Cowes and follow a scenic but undulating route through Porchfield, Shalfleet, Yarmouth, Thorley, Chessell, Ningwood, and Northwood, before returning to Cowes.
Online entries will close on Sunday (28th September), but entries will still be available on the day of the race – cash only.
Motorists are being advised of potential traffic delays on the main road near Shalfleet, where temporary traffic lights will be in operation by Shalfleet Garage to assist runners crossing safely. Delays are expected between 11:30 and 12:45.
The race starts at 11:00 on Sunday 5th October 2025.
