A minor crash between a Toyota and a truck in Lake this morning (Friday) has led to the hospitalisation of a driver.
Police were called to the scene of the incident, near the zebra crossing on Lake Hill, at 10:40 this morning.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service was also dispatched with paramedics deciding to take 1 of the drivers to St Mary’s Hospital as a precaution.
Island Echo is told that the car braked, with the truck driver left with nowhere to go. Minor damage was sustained to both vehicles.
The road remained open throughout, albeit with delays, and the clear has now been cleared.

Another RTI when I went past I only saw a 7..5 ton lorry with its drivers side headlight and bumper smashed hope the driver is ok
If the pickup truck wasn’t tailgating he would have stopped, most island drivers tailgate and nothing will stop these idiots…
The island Roads are some of the most UNSAFE in the country.
Nearly everyday due to McDonalds being in a ridiculous location at Ryde and having zero traffic management there will be a series accident one time.
“It is a disaster waiting to happen”
I have contacted IW Council and Bob Seely on numerous occasions
But to be honest they are clueless and useless!
It’s the junction to the Island Vets too.
