A crash involving a car and a van is causing travel delays between Newport and Cowes this afternoon (Friday).
The incident has occurred at Northwood, close to the junction with Oxford Road.
No one has been seriously injured and all occupants are out of the vehicles, although the air bags have been deployed.
Witnesses claim that one of the vehicles turned suddenly without indication.
The road is currently blocked heading into Cowes resulting in delays for motorists, who are being guided past the scene.
UPDATE @ 17:10 – The crash has involved a Mercedes Vito and a red Suzuki Swift.




























































































2 vehicles? that’s unusual, a proper accident
Surprise surprise, someone didn’t indicate and made a sudden manoeuvre. Standard nowadays, especially when diving for a parking space or dropping kids off.
More bad driving
It shows we can’t simply assume drivers will use indicators, be prepared for the unexpected, keep a good distance from the driver in front of you…
I never trust people who indicate until I’m certain they are going left or right. I’m also appalled that people are still driving too fast in these difficult times. We won’t change selfish people!
