2 minor road traffic collisions, which have occurred within metres of each other, are causing traffic delays for motorists in Ryde this afternoon (Friday).
The incidents have taken place on St John’s Road – the main ‘A’ road through the town.
At the junction of Quarry Road a Toyota Aygo and a Vauxhall Astra van have crashed head-on. Further up on the hill, at the junction with Bennet Street, a Rover and a Ford Fiesta have also collided.
Police and paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are on scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area for the time being.
