A 19-year-old male is recovering after being stabbed down a footpath in Cowes last night (Sunday) – the second stabbing on the Isle of Wight in just 2 weekends.
As previously reported by Island Echo, emergency services rushed to Newport Road in Cowes at around 21:30 following reports of a serious incident.
Officers cordoned off a footpath which links up to Fraser Close, alongside a large grassed area near the junction with Artic Road.
Hampshire Constabulary has now confirmed that a teenager was stabbed in the leg after being attacked by 2 men.
A spokesperson has said:
“At around 9pm, a 19-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his leg when he was assaulted by two males. The man has suffered a serious but not life-threatening injury.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed or heard anything in the area at this time, or perhaps captured anything or anyone acting suspiciously on Dash Cam whilst driving past.

A metal detectorist has been utilised this morning to sweep the local area in a bid to locate the knife suspected of being used to inflict the wound.
This latest incident comes just a week after a 16-year-old was stabbed in Ryde.
Ok, to cut out a lot of unnecessary posts: its the fault of Brexit, overners, benefit cheats, housing estates, Immigrants, second home owners, the council, the floating bridge, St Marys magic roundabout, Lockdown……and anything else regularly regurgitated here that I have forgotten the mention. That said, I hope the victim recovers and the assailants get their collars felt.

Just makes me wonder what brain cells these knife carriers have ? How would they like to be stabbed? I suppose once we get the huge new housing estate in Ryde, guns will be used instead… too many people watching USA TV…. get a life of your own, why copy what is seen on TV..?
Problem is Dave, it is the same to ‘them’ as saying why do WE as a country, need Nuclear weapons?
Those who don’t carry a knife FEEL that they will be likely to become victims of those who do, so more carry knives, then, when most carry knives, the aggressor to remain top dog, then carry guns.
For ‘their logic’ sees it that IF the lad who was stabbed had a gun, then he would not be stabbed now, but ‘he’ would then become the hated one, with people calling for HIM to be arrested had he pulled a gun and shot the attacker. Had the attacker and the victim both had knives, then the more aggressive or stronger would have made the other the victim. So they ‘up the anti’ by then using firearms or acid etc.
The police took guns off almost all the population but then with the imported people came the imported guns which they seem to have no problem in obtaining.
As more move here as we have to build 1000 homes plus per year, this will just be the start of a very rapid decline in our safety. For those who can do no wrong, or at least cannot be blamed have made it unsafe to walk their streets for the young, and so the young in fear carry weapons and the vile cycle cannot then be broken.
We need life in prison for anyone who ‘uses’ a weapon, but the prisons are full since the world of charming people have now filled them so we cannot even do this to protect our young anymore.
Just have to watch our Island catch up with other areas in no small thanks to this council policy of masse building and filling such with outsiders who come from such bringing it to our lives.
Police too busy enforcing wearing masks and making sure couples do not go shopping together.

Until any government realises what is wrong with the uk’s crime problem…as it citizens do ….and does something about it with more deterrent sentences this problem will not go away…..
We have weak parties whoever is in office…..the do gooders in any party rule…..knowing our courts are too weak to upset them…
