A total of 175,000 people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight have received the COVID-19 vaccination this Spring – the highest uptake in the South East and the third highest nationally.
The 2025 spring vaccination programme has now concluded, with local teams praised for their efforts in encouraging eligible residents to get vaccinated.
Uptake across the area reached 63%, making it the top-performing region in the South-East. The success is attributed to the dedication of Primary Care Networks, community pharmacies and NHS vaccination teams.
Those eligible for the spring vaccine included people aged 75 and over, residents of older adult care homes, and individuals aged six months and over with weakened immune systems.
Dr Michelle Legg, Clinical Lead for the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme at NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight, said:
“This phenomenal achievement could not have happened without a huge amount of hard work and collaboration between Primary Care Networks, community pharmacies and the COVID-19 vaccination programme team.
“I would like to thank all the teams across our system who have taken part in the campaign, which has led to the high levels of vaccination rates across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This will ultimately keep people and communities safe and healthy.”
Neil Hardy, Chief Pharmacist at NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight, added:
“More patients than ever before are now visiting their local community pharmacy to get vaccinated and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our pharmacists and their teams who have been working alongside GPs to ensure that those who are eligible have been able to easily receive their vaccination.”
COVID-19 and flu vaccinations will again be available this autumn and winter for those who require added protection. Further details will be shared closer to the start of the next campaign.
Vaccines will continue to be offered through GP practices, pharmacies and pop-up clinics.
Residents may also be eligible for other vaccines, including the pneumococcal vaccine (for those aged 65 and over) and the RSV vaccine (for pregnant people or those aged 75 to 79, including those who turned 80 on or after 1st September 2024 and before 31st August 2025).
These vaccines help protect against serious illnesses such as pneumonia, which are more prevalent during the winter months.

covid is just a scapegoat to use to scare people with we have not seen parades of hearses or people dying in the streets it has all been a faso of gigantic proportions with makes on the streets and don’t go near each other and plastic barriers in most shops ,someone has made a fortune out of this and it has been kept very quiet as to who it has been it’s time it was investigated and unmasked .

I find it interesting that a rushed through Covid Vax (what I call fake mRna version) uses or has never used the dead/inactivated virus of Covid…..
…Yet still in production and used every season is the Flu Vax (around for years now) is STILL made of the dead/inactivated influenza virus.
Even tho the fake mRna Flu version is in production by Pfizer since 2022, it has not yet hit the shelves. Why is that?
If taking a Vax, old style is still the best for people and pets!
