2 groups of youths were stopped and 7 teenagers searched by Police following reports of anti-social behaviour in Sandown at the weekend. Diligent members of the community reported anti-social behaviour around the derelict Ocean Hotel, Parkbury Hotel and Cygnet Hotel areas, with photographic evidence supplied to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary. In total, 12 young people were dispersed from the town across Saturday and Sunday, with follow up work to now take place to help prevent such situations in the future. Police say that action will include the Anti-social Behaviour Pathway, referrals to youth version services and the consideration of prosecution.

Dangerous place to drive the rock
The rock? More like the clay! Get it? Hahahaha too funny
More lowlife will be along soon….
No longer safe to walk on pavements!!
It’s about time the courts banned drink an drug drivers for life
Trouble is probably already banned, the scum just ignore and get another car, so many going around on cloned plates I expect. Sad lot.
I’m glad the woman is okay, as for the scum driving the car, we’ll total scum.
Was it another councillor ?
Until speeding motorists are banged up, these types of
accidents will keep happening
20 is plenty
shut up with your 20 crap..
20? Don’t talk nonsense.
I’d imagine there are now an awful lot of people angry with him. What an utter lowlife. I’ve zero confidence in the courts dispensing appropriate justice though.
I sincerely hope that this drunk is made to pay in full for the cemetery wall.
Shame not a plot ready dug for them
Agree and shoved them straight in the hole and back filled it ,,,sorted
More scum ..they better be made to pay for that ..but they wont..
Quality. Drive it like you stole it. My damage rating 3 out of 10. Where is the picture of the motor involves?
They don’t look smug at all
An innocent child searched today is a friend of the police tomorrow.
So they should! Children are evil.
They need to do this ryde
All they need to do is cut ALL benefits to the parent, or, more rarely, parents. No help with rent or anything. That is the only way this rubbish will learn, when it, is where it belongs, in the gutter begging for food, as it would have been pre people who are too dim and poor, being paid to breed.
Therefore crime will go up. Or, you’ll be stepping over the bodies of children while they starve? I have a nasty suspicion you’d actually enjoy that.
She/he/it wouldn’t bother stepping over them. She/he/it would actually step ON them & enjoy it even more!
No, no children will starve as people like you would be there, selling everything you own to protect these people you think are just vile because no-one has ever bestowed kindness upon them.
Or more likely just moan that the ‘rich’ should do more to help. Yet these low life will always bite the hand that is stupid enough to feed them. For they see it not as ‘kindness’ but weakness to be fully exploited.
So whilst you stir hatred by making out I would like to see starving bodies of children, imagine if I had said the same about your beloved dingy contents many of whom hate and abuse white children. The race card and red flag would be pulled and clicked as fast as lightning. You can give, but can’t take. Typical lefty trash.
Many white people also hate and abuse white children.
U really are a prize bitch.
Why because the truth hurts and spongers are not ‘used’ to being told how it is, for society now has to skirt around the truth, afraid to say, that IF you can’t afford kids, then keep them closed our use free contraception.
No, I fully agree with you that if you can’t afford to pay for your own kids, then don’t have them. What I take issue with is the fact that you tar ALL people in receipt of benefits with the same brush. You also do the same with ALL foreigners. If fact, over the course of months of reading your drivel, I’ve come to realise that you actually hate everyone & everything! So, although I stand by my comment that you’re a prize bitch, I also really pity you.
A national service programme would be massively beneficial for our youth whether they are problematic or not. National service has demonstrably positive effects on educational and occupational development. It provides opportunities to learn skills, and is generally associated with improved health and well-being. By national service, I do not necessarily mean military service because there have been (and still are) many community-based forms of national service in other countries. However, I am not averse to compulsory military national service.
They don’t look too anti-social to me.
How come this member of public even got a response?? Usually police don’t even get deployed by Control room.
Looks like the rapid response Police bike squad were in attendance .. well done
It’s an old photo – this was originally posted way back last year.
If Sandown wasn’t in such a state with SO many derelict, empty or downright scummy buildings, perhaps this wouldn’t be such an issue! Give teenagers something to do, keep them busy. There isn’t even a youth club anymore. It just gets worse and worse. Really is a sad state of affairs.
Not that deep, goes back to the fact that there’s nothing else to do in sandown.
What do want a medal all some praise come you fools stop the old fluffs from driving
Instead of standing around posing, get up to Sandown Pier and
slap tickets on vehicles parked outside the Pier on
Double Yellow Lines
You will makes loads of money.
Oh wow, it’s like it isn’t their job.. they have gone above and beyond for us public this time.
Tories closed all the youth centres and now they wonder why the kids are roaming around with nothing to do. Parents are working three jobs just to pay the rent because Tories decimated the housing market to buy votes. All coming home to roost. Tories too stupid to see it. Because of the Tories are army only has enough arms to fight for two months. We’re a sitting duck and once Putin has finished in eastern Europe nothing to stop him coming for us. But Tory party don’t care, they will be long gone with all the stolen money.
Best buy a Russian flag, and a lingaphone course then Fred. I am sure that todays ‘children’ who roam streets , steal cars and motorbikes for joy rides, set fire to buildings for the buzz (or backhanders from those claiming the insurance or wanting a listed building gone) or doing drugs, having se x, or drunk out of their skulls, smashing up buildings and terrorising the locals, would be FULLY content now with sipping a Cola, and playing ping-pong.
Wake up old man, time and sadly the ‘children’ are NOT how you wish or remember or expect them to ‘be’.
It is the law, and public who need to ‘accept’ that painful fact and harden up, not ‘give ever more’. I am sure karen will agree spending others money is the answer though.
I will, yes. Because unless we want to see the next generation of children go the same way with zero prospects it will only get worse, not better. Short of building hundreds more massive prisons to ‘teach them a lesson’ cutting all other money to ‘teach them a lesson’ just so some smug, superior but equally ‘useless’ humans can be told they’ll save thru’pence ha’penny on their taxes without ever having to look at where the wasted money actually goes. Tip: not on the society we actually live in. All of us.
Oh and incidentally, it costs £47k a year to keep an offender in prison. You think that’s a good use of money?
And still the turkeys vote for Christmas
Err … we are still in NATO fred and I can’t see Putin messing with NATO.
Should investigate the real crime in Sandown
“50p to use PUBLIC Toilets”
In my world that is a crime aganst the people of the country
who pay Council Tax.
We are being fleeced dry by Government Officials
I can honestly say that I can only ever recall seeing one lot of teenagers causing any trouble on the Island, but I have noticed various mature adults causing problems & old soaks hanging about in the streets, intimidating people. Shouldn’t we be the ones setting a good example to the kids instead of blaming them?
I mean I’m all up for “everybody” afforded equal opportunities to serve as an officer but cant you be more specific on what kind of “stature” our Bobbies should be? Like these people are supposed to protect me and I’m twice the size of these .. I think I’ll protect myself if that’s what’s on offer if I call 999
Well there is a brand new youth club starting in The Lighthouse Church on a Tuesday! This should give the kids something fun and safe to do?
And 2 days later, the Cygnet hotel was set on fire. Let me think!!
