There was family garden fun at Newport Roman Villa this week and with £1 entry for all (including admission and all activities) it was bargain fun all round for those who attended.
This drop in event was enjoyed by hundreds of children, parents and grandparents alike.
With an invitation to ‘Come to Newport Roman Villa and make your own Roman Garden to take home’ there was the chance to furnish a garden with statues and pools and plant some seeds. It is hoped that the seeds will germinate and that the gardens will actually grow.
There was also the chance to find out more about plants in Roman times and what they were used for, see the Villa’s reconstructed Roman Garden and follow a photo hunt.
