A teenager injured whilst water skiing off Priory Bay near St Helens has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport this evening (Wednesday).
Earlier this afternoon Solent Coastguard were made aware that a young male had sustained suspected back injuries after suffering a fall whilst water skiing on the Solent.
Advised that the casualty was slowly being brought ashore by RIB, Solent Coastguard tasked Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team to rendezvous with the casualty and crew at Bembridge Sailing Club on Embankment Road, Bembridge.
Coastguard Officers have worked with paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service to carefully transfer the casualty from the RIB, onto the pontoon then on wards to the ambulance.
