Wightlink CRT’s Finley and Ayrton Manser-Grundy have put in outstanding performances at this year’s Malverns Classic Bike Festival, with both young riders securing top results at the prestigious event.
Ayrton, aged just 3, competed in the balance bike World Championships across 3 races. His first challenge was the quad eliminator, where he tackled jumps and tight corners to take victory in a sprint finish – despite it being his first time racing out of professional gates.
In the dual slalom, held on a narrow and slightly slippery course, Ayrton qualified fastest and won the final. He completed his weekend with a downhill race, finishing in 3rd place and earning the overall title of three-year-old World Champion.

Older brother Finley, aged 7, impressed in the seven-year-olds category with a series of strong results. He won the cross-country race by a margin of 30 seconds after taking an early lead through forest paths and grassy sections around the lake.
Finley went on to take silver in the dual slalom on the challenging national championship course, having qualified fastest. On the final day, he topped the podium in the downhill race, setting the fastest time of the day and outperforming even older riders.
Both brothers enjoyed an unforgettable weekend of racing, with their family expressing immense pride in their achievements.
The team has extended thanks to sponsors Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries, Island Renewables Ltd, Wight Mountain, Rapanui and KReative Studios for their continued support.
