Emergency services were called to the incident on St George’s Way, Newport at around 13:30 following reports of a pedestrian verses car collision. Island Echo understands the boy ran out into the path of the car before he could be stopped.
Amazingly, the youngster has escaped any serious injury with scans and X-Rays coming back all clear. He is said to be recovering well in the children’s ward at St Mary’s Hospital.
The boy’s mother has thanked members of the public who stopped and provided assistance and to the driver of the vehicle who quickly called the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
