New Year 7 students have arrived at Christ the King College looking extremely smart in their new blazers and PE tops, all paid for by the College.
Acknowledging the squeeze on home finances, the Newport-based college felt a duty to support families in what can be a very expensive time of year buying new uniforms when transitioning to a secondary school.
Christ The King has announced that the scheme will continue for the next new Year 6 students and parents who choose Christ the King College for September 2024.
Mr Montrose, Headteacher said:
“As a joint faith school, l feel it is our duty to support all in our community as best we can. We hope this gesture goes some way in making the transition from primary school to Christ the King College as smooth as possible and looking like they are dressed for success.”

Good idea for families struggling but it’s not just year 6 who struggle but unfair putting pictures of the children it there FREE uniform. Kind of draws attention to low income families
They all got free uniforms so they are all happy.
Or they could just not have expensive blazers as part of the uniform? What’s wrong with a cheap jumper
If you really need to ask that question, you are obviously an idiot in a cheap jumper. You probably have a shop called Pete’s Really Cheap Jumpers of Newport and it is struggling to sell really cheap jumpers. The cheap jumper business has hit the rocks I’m afraid to say. You should move on to selling really cheap vapes. That is where the easy money lies.
