Yates Brewery has scooped Gold at this year’s Label of the Year Competition, claiming the spot for ‘Best Set of Labels’ among 166 entrants from across the country.
The eye-catching artwork, created by Newport-based marketing agency Solent, draws inspiration from iconic Isle of Wight features and tells the story behind each brew.
Since their release, the new designs have generated a surge of interest from both publicans and punters, with supply struggling to meet demand thanks to the striking visuals and subtly tweaked flavours.
Josh Davies, Head Brewer, has said:
“Designing new branding was one of the first things on the list. We wanted to keep them looking traditional, but with a slightly more modern feel – without going too far with bright colours or crazy images.
“Each label has its own story, whether that’s a location, a legend, or a character from Isle of Wight history.
“The newly designed labels have gone down a storm with both new and long-time customers across the Island. Winning 1st place for the first four we’ve created this year proves how well they’ve been received.
“Tom at Solent has done a great job bringing our ideas to life in the designs, and I’m sure we’ve got plenty more in the pipeline to come.”
Tom Squirell, Solent marketing agency designer, adds:
“The new designs have already had some great feedback on the Island. To see people now enjoying the artwork across the country is brilliant.
“Myself and Josh have got some really cool ideas for new pumpclips for the near future, so keep an eye out!”
The Label of the Year competition was hosted at Bateman’s Brewery, Wainfleet.
