Police have launched an investigation after a woman in her 20s was run down by a car in Ventnor during the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was called at 00:45 to reports of an altercation taking place on the High Street.
Officers attended and located a woman in her 20s with injuries to her legs. A man in his 40s also reported a minor injury to his head.
It’s understood that the woman was hit by a vehicle off Pound Lane, which led to her sustaining injuries described as being neither life changing nor life threatening.
She was initially travelling in a car that was ‘rammed’ by another, before exiting the vehicle and being struck again by the 2nd car – this time as a pedestrian.
Police say they are investigating the incident and are currently conducting enquiries in order to determine the circumstances of what has happened.
