A Cowes woman has been detained under the Mental Health Act indefinitely after admitting the attempted murder of a child.
42-year-old Sarah Peckham has been ordered into hospital care by Winchester Crown Court as a result of the incident on 13th August this year.
Peckham, who is said to have suffered a psychotic breakdown, will receive treatment by mental health specialists until such a time as she is deemed well enough to be released back into the community.
Peckham remains in the prison service and will be transferred to Sevenacres within 28 days.
