A woman found on the cliff edge at Culver Down near Sandown has been talked down by Police and taken to Sevenacres Mental Health Unit tonight (Tuesday).
Police responded to reports of a high risk missing person at around 18:00 before locating the woman at Culver, thanks to the assistance of the National Police Air Service helicopter from Bournemouth.
Officers moved in to talk to the vulnerable individual, who was then successfully taken to safety.
Coastguard Rescue Teams stood by, but all emergency teams left the scene by 18:35.
