Between Friday 24th December and Tuesday 4th January you will see less news from us than normal. This is to allow our team to take a much-needed (and hopefully well-deserved) break and to recuperate ready for the year ahead. You will still find new articles being published over the festive period and we will of course bring you all the latest breaking news as it happens, albeit perhaps slightly slower than usual.
Emails and social networks will be lightly monitored throughout our reduced service period and our telephone lines are now shut. All enquiries should be sent to [email protected] with a response to be expected within 2-3 working days. The commenting system, which now boasts over 83,000 comments, is disabled until early January.
2021 has been yet another challenging year for many, but Island Echo has been with you every step of the way – as we have been for almost 10 years now. One positive to come out of this year was the national recognition for Island Echo when we were crowned ICNN Community Website of the Year at the newsawards 2021.
Next year is going to be a big one for Island Echo… not only will we be celebrating our 10th birthday in May, but we are also going to be launching a recruitment campaign in January/February time as we look to expand the team to enhance our coverage across the Isle of Wight.
