The annual Wilder Awards will once again celebrate all those who help wildlife flourish across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Organised by the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, the Wilder Awards 2023 will shine the spotlight on all those amazing people, communities and groups who are working together to help nature’s recovery.
This year, the 8 different award categories are:
- Business of the Year Award
- Individual Action for Nature Award
- Wilder School Award
- Wilder Neighbourhoods Award
- Young Changemaker Award
- Innovation for Nature Award
- Nature Recovery (Land and Sea) Award
There will also be an Outstanding Contribution to the Trust Award, which will be nominated by the Trust.
Nominations will open at the end of this month and close at the end of June, when a panel of Trust staff, previous winners, and trustees will decide the shortlist and winners.
HIWWT President Megan McCubbin has said:
“We are delighted to celebrate the champions of nature across our communities. Many people are doing remarkable work to help nature flourish and make Hampshire and Isle of Wight wilder and greener, and we look forward to finding out more about some of the amazing, creative things being done.”
“It is through the efforts of all those passionate people working together for nature that we can achieve our dream a better, wilder future, and their ideas will hopefully inspire others looking to start their own wilder journey.”
This year’s awards will be presented at Lakeside North Harbour in Portsmouth in September.
