Newly-weds Phoebe and Bon were congratulated by Captain Patrycja Jaromirska on the Bridge of Wightlink’s flagship Victoria of Wight as they travelled from Portsmouth to Fishbourne for their UK ceremony.
They marked the occasion by wearing traditional Chinese wedding outfits during the crossing.
The young couple from Hong Kong were both students at the University of Surrey where Bon took Chemical Engineering and Phoebe studied Chemistry. Now they have graduated, they are working in London but the Isle of Wight, where they went on their first date, remains very close to their hearts.
Captain Patrycja has said:
“It was lovely to meet Phoebe and Bon and hear how they met on the romantic Isle of Wight. We wish them all the best in their new life together.”

Best wishes for a long & happy marriage
A free crossing would have been a nice gesture
Good to see a female captain from an ethnic minority. It’s not often Wightlink get thumbs up – good on them to promote diversity in a workplace rather than automatically slotting in a white British male into a role like this.
