WightFibre has achieved the highly respected Investors in People Gold accreditation, placing the broadband provider among a select group of organisations recognised for exceptional people management and workplace culture.
The accolade signifies that WightFibre not only has strong policies in place but that staff at every level – from apprentices to senior leadership – actively embody and deliver on them.
Investors in People is a UK-wide framework that champions better work environments and celebrates companies that prioritise the wellbeing and development of their workforce.
Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, has said:
“We’d like to congratulate WightFibre. Achieving Gold accreditation in We invest in people is a remarkable effort for any organisation and places WightFibre among a host of companies that truly understand the value of their people.”
The assessment highlighted WightFibre’s core value of ‘Because We Care’, which is reflected in every aspect of the business – from customer service to employee support. The company’s employee benefits package and training opportunities were praised as evidence of its people-first approach.
Commenting on the achievement, John Irvine, CEO of WightFibre, said:
“WightFibre’s company ethos is ‘because we care’; we care about our customers, our people, and the Island community we serve.
“WightFibre invests in its people through ongoing training to achieve qualifications and industry accreditations, providing competitive salaries and benefits, and fostering an enjoyable team working environment. Our aim is to make WightFibre a great place to work and ensure that work is enjoyable and rewarding. The Investors in People Gold accreditation is external validation that WightFibre is, indeed, a great place to work.”
WightFibre is currently rolling out a £110million full-fibre broadband network across the Isle of Wight. The rollout is nearly complete, with over 72,000 homes and businesses already able to access the service, out of a target of 80,000.
