With the Euros getting closer and closer it’s getting to the time when we predict who will win the illustrious tournament. Although we would love to sit here and blindly predict that England will win and call it a day, we will look at a few teams and pick which we think is actually most likely.
England’s Euros Chances
I know I just said I wouldn’t predict England to win and call it a day but we are genuinely one of three nations that are favourites. We aren’t the nation that takes Ricky Lambert to tournaments anymore and although he was a good player, we are filled with world-class players now. We are loaded with some of the world’s best players like Harry Kane, Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham as well as other world beaters like Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, we are one of the best teams and we have a genuine chance to win this and pick up steam before the World Cup in the USA.
France’s Euros Chances
France feel like an inevitability, they feel like they will win at all times and they seem to only be getting better. They have stopped England in the past and they could easily stop us again and take home the trophy for themselves. When we talk about world-class players we can’t overlook France’s squad. They have the arguably best player in the world in Mbappe, two of the best young midfielders in the world, Tchouameni and Camavinga as well as Konate and Saliba in the defence, they are set for years and are already a force to be reckoned with. Having this team as long as the England team makes picking your Euro winner even harder, it isn’t like betting on the Premier League where it will most likely be between two or three teams and the season lasts longer, the knockout style of the tournament makes it harder to predict as one small slipup could ruin a teams chances.
Germany’s Euros Chances
Anyone other than England or France could be seen as an outside shout but Germany they are a great team and need to be considered. They are filled with young players, a lot of whom will be coming from the incredible Bayer Leverkusen team that is on course to do an unbeaten treble. Also, they have a squad with a great mix of young and old players like the extremely talented Musiala and Gundogan with the reliability and leadership skills that he brings to the team, it is an overall good balance and we think Germany coached by Julian Nagelsmann could do very well. However, I don’t think they will win the whole thing.
Spain’s Euros Chances
Spain are unlikely to win the tournament if we are honest, they have a good squad but haven’t been as good as they should’ve been over the last few tournaments but they do have a few shining lights in their team and people that they will build their squad around over the next few years. Like Pedri, Gavi, Lamine Yamal and Rodri. The young players they have are so talented and Rodri is the best midfielder in the world currently, as he gets better and the younger players mature, they could win one of the next few major tournaments but not this one. They are also in a very tough group, playing Croatia and Italy, so in a cruel world, they don’t even make it out of their group.
Who I Think Will Win
As much as I would like to sit here and let bias blind me, I think that France will win. I think that if England and France make it to the semi-finals and play each other, the winner will win the entire tournament. I would love for it to be England but my brain is telling me to be sensible and pick France.
