The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) was scrambled to the West Wight earlier this evening (Saturday) in response to a medical emergency in Freshwater.
Having been paged from their Thruxton base at around 20:15, didn’t long for the green and yellow liveried chopper to reach the Island.
Circling the skies above Colwell, the helicopter eventually landed on Colwell Common, before flying medics were transferred to the casualty at an address of Colwell Lane joining paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service on scene.
After around 40 or so minutes on the ground, the helicopter took off again and headed straight back to base.
It is unclear as to the exact nature of the emergency.
