Isle of Wight tourism businesses can now download the first set of social media images aimed at promoting the Island in the so-called ‘shoulder season’ of October to April/May.
The theme of the campaign is ‘Say Yes to…’, highlighting the fantastic range of activities and reasons to visit the Isle of Wight during the season.
As well as attractions, accommodation providers and hospitality venues, visitors can discover the many different ways to enjoy the Isle of Wight, from walking to cycling, food, history and more.
Lou Collins, Marketing Manager for Visit Isle of Wight, says the Autumn/Winter marketing campaign is full of positives:
“Saying yes is a very positive message and something we haven’t been able to confidently say for the past two years, as they have been full of uncertainty and challenges.
‘There is nothing quite like a trip to the Isle of Wight, nothing quite like the feeling of being amazed and surprised – which is what this campaign is focused around. Marrying images and phrases together that people do not associate with the Island to spark that feeling of the unexpected and the spontaneous feeling of ‘let’s say yes to an Isle of Wight adventure’. The campaign will promote and highlight what makes the Island special during the months of autumn and winter”.
Visit Isle of Wight is backing this campaign with marketing material that reflects this message in a number of high-profile publications, including The Guardian, Sainsburys Magazine online, BBC Countryfile and Family Traveller, to name but a few.
Isle of Wight tourism businesses who are part of the Wight BID or are Voluntary Contributors can download the Autumn/Winter campaign images at https://visitwightpro.com/2022/08/30/social-media-assets-for-autumn-winter/.

Sorry if it sounds selfish, but no. Us island residents need a break from all the traffic on the roads and people everywhere.
Everyone has had a bumper summer. Residents need to enjoy the island now.
‘There is nothing quite like a trip to the Isle of Wight, nothing quite like the feeling of being amazed and surprised…’
If you can get over the amazement and surprise of the ferry ticket price, you can achieve anything on your holiday.
I recommend the golf at Browns (if it stays open), where you can pick yourself up a couple of flagpoles to attach to you bikes (see picture above). Browns is great btw.
Once the energy prices kick in.
Many businesses will either wrap up or close their doors to save money.
How will Sandown and Shanklin amusements cope with extorninate energy bills
I can see many job losses on the Horizon
Social credit system coming soon
Oh yes come to the iow…
The scenery is amazing !!!!
The rabbit hutches / guinea pigs hutches are stunning…
And all affordable for 2nd home owners including holiday rentals….
Alas our planning committee forget affordable housing for the islanders that would like to be able to afford an affordable home !!!!
So please welcome to the concrete jungle jigsaw with 1 hospital no NHS dentists…
But hey ho v affordable as a 2nd home etc ….
Have you seen that horrendous housing estate at Shalfleet?
I see why these people are buying homes to let for holidaymakers, they’re charging a grand a week for semi detached houses in Ryde or wherever, absolutely crazy. If you think about it, we have no need for new houses when we have thousands of these uninhabited second homes and holiday lets.
This is why the Government are looking into the number of 2nd homes that sit empty for the majority of the year.
When they come to market, they are snapped up for holiday rentals or 2nd homes. It has got to stop.
Give it a bloody rest, we don’t want anymore self entitled DFL’s over here. What makes the island special in autumn and winter? Easy answer, “NO DAMN HOLIDAYMAKERS.” Let us islanders have some peace and quiet for a change.
Actually its the second home owners that keep the island’s economy afloat. The underlying issue is whinge-bag mainlanders who retire here, resist all change and become a burden on the local authority funded services that us natives have have contributed to throughout our working lives whilst they have not!
Rubbish, all 2nd homeowners cause is a rise in house prices and council tax here, so locals cannot afford to live here anymore. I guess you are a 2nd homeowner then. You won’t be happy until everywhere is built over and the gardens are landscaped by your lot. You have a business interest in more houses being built, not any care or thought about peace and quiet.
Some one needs to stick one on you. You’re a total waste of space in life. You can’t just rely on 6 weeks anymore to make ends meet. Love to meet you in person as i said in my last reply to you… If you’re a fella i bet you’ve got a small —- or you can’t make your wife or girlfriend happy so you have to satisfy yourself on here. What a total loser!
Threatening to “stick one on me”, that is a proper threat is it not. Grow up. Certainly rattled your cage Mr Robinson, be careful you might have a cardiac.
I do hope that they drop all that slower pace of life/living in the past nonsense when in reality what we are is a backward area with lower living standards than the nearby mainland. It just encourages the authorities to do nothing about it. If you confront our MP all you get is something along the lines of “if you don’t want to be poor don’t live on an offshore island” or words to that effect!
