After weeks of disruption to Wightlink’s Fishbourne to Portsmouth route, its flagship Victoria of Wight has re-entered service, bringing with it a sigh of relief for those needing to cross the Solent.
The newest of the operator’s fleet, the Victoria of Wight was originally withdrawn from service on the 15th June due to a mechanical issue with one of its engines, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Operating with 2 smaller ferries, the ferry company was forced to alter passengers bookings, with some of those travelling experiencing major disruption to holiday and work plans.
The vessel now appears to have re-entered service a day earlier than scheduled following the rectification of its issue, with its tracking appearing between its 2 ports on AIS.
