A trio of veterans are to take on an outdoor sleeping challenge this weekend, all in aid of Shanklin’s Royal British Legion Club. Taking on the challenge is Jack Berridge formerly of the Royal Hampshire Regiment, Mark Kelly formerly of the Royal Logistics Corps and George Cook formerly of the Coldstream Guards. Armed with just army rations, sleeping bags and a poncho, the threesome is to sleep outside of the club on Collingwood Road from 11:00 on Saturday – 11:00 on Sunday. Anyone wishing to donate to the cause can do so by visiting the GoFundMe page here.

Well Done Lads!! 🙂
Their time would be better spent campaigning for answers from the government as to why they go out of their way to put illegal immigrants up in hotels, however, make no effort to get homeless veterans into a hotel room.
Someone arriving here in a dinghy from france, breaking all our immigration rules, never having contributed one moment or one penny to the betterment of this country, does not deserve to be housed and supported before someone who was born here, paid taxes here and in the case of veterans, risked their lives for king and country.
either the government make the necessary changes or face being replaced through lobbying and voting.
Well done 100% support
Oh my word.
I would say to you and anyone else who has an interest and desire to make the world a safer, kinder place (which is why we go off to fight against foreign regimes isn’t it? Not for oil or spoils?), try this instead….
If you are doing well in life, builder a longer table not a higher fence.
when you are sat there nay sayer at the head of your long table, that is now full of free loading parasites, draining your resources whilst developing a sense of entitlement to live off you and providing nothing in return, you will soon realise that they are mugging you off and shortly after you will also tire of working hard and then working harder to fund the freeloaders at your long table, not to mention the cost of maintaining such a long table.
When you decide that you can no longer support them, they will only leave, once you have been fully rinsed for everything they can get.
I, on the other hand, will have spent the time building a nice high fence to keep the sponging low lives out and as such, will remain wealthy.
And for the good of the kinder world, keeping yourself in. Thanks for that at least.
this, and previous governments have built a longer table and we are now feeding the world’s undesirables, we need a higher fence
When you’re in the other side of that high fence, keep your moaning down. You’ll spoil the party for us on this side.
