Calling all dog walkers, dog groomers, dog boarders and anyone with an interest in dogs – nominations are now open for the inaugural Woof Awards Isle of Wight.
Founded by Islander Mary Jacobs, the awards are to be held at Shanklin Conservative Club on Sunday 8th March 2025.
Mary runs the UK’s largest animal recognition awards the Animal Star Awards and has even been to No10 Downing Street to receive a Point of Lights award from then Prime Minister Boris Johnson for services to animals.
Wightlink is supporting the event.
Speaking on the launching of the event, Mary has said:
“Since 2016 I’ve had Isle of Wight business owners from Dog Groomers and dog boarders enter the Animal Star Awards and many have come over to Portsmouth to attend the award ceremony and I wanted to bring an awards to the Isle of Wight to give recognition to those who dedicate themselves to the lives of dogs”
