Ventnor was once again transformed into a dazzling display of light and celebration on Saturday (16th August) as the town’s illuminated carnival procession brought this year’s festivities to a close.
Crowds lined the streets to watch glowing floats, vibrant costumes and glittering performers parade through the town centre, wrapping up a week of community celebrations.
Following the main procession earlier in the week, families, visitors and residents gathered from early evening to get the best views of the illuminated procession, cheering as dance troupes, musicians and themed floats passed by in a kaleidoscope of colour and sound.
Ventnor Carnival Committee has thanked everyone who took part and supported the event, with organisers once again praising the local community’s spirit and involvement.
The next carnival is Newport Illuminated on Thursday (21st August), moving off at 20:00.
