Ventnor came alive last night (Wednesday) with a vibrant celebration of community spirit and creativity as local residents, families, and visitors turned out for the town’s Main Carnival, part of a week-long festival of railway‑themed fun and tradition.
The streets were filled with imaginative costumes and beautifully decorated floats, as marchers made their way through town in a joyful display of island pride. Prior to the procession, judging took place at Dudley Road Car Park, bringing together local neighbours and groups to showcase their creativity and community spirit.
Saturday (16th August) will see the carnival’s grand finale with the Illuminated Parade, lighting up the town later in the evening.
